Honest Buildings and Con Edison Partner to Bring Data-Driven Project Management to Real Estate Owners

The leading project management and procurement technology company partners with New York City's energy provider to implement building projects for real estate owners. 

PRESS RELEASE: New York, NY (Mar. 7, 2016) — Honest Buildings, the intuitive project management and procurement solution built for commercial real estate owners and managers, has entered a partnership with Con Edison, to convert its energy efficiency expertise to easily implementable projects for commercial buildings.

Con Edison, the energy company that serves New York City and Westchester County, N.Y., will use the platform as part of its Energy Efficiency Marketplace initiative. The Marketplace will help building owners determine where they can make energy efficiency upgrades, buy the goods and services they need for their upgrades, and manage their projects.

Through the initiative owners will be able to evaluate projects to reduce energy usage, then use Honest Buildings as a framework for smart, data-driven decision making to keep each project on time and on budget. All types of energy projects can be facilitated through the platform including HVAC, electrical infrastructure, windows, plumbing and lighting, which can be bid using a specialized pre-built template in the Honest Buildings system, outlining key cost categories and considerations line by line. The platform provides a streamlined way to send a project to bid, track progress and actual costs versus budgeted costs all in one centralized place.

Honest Buildings will give building owners access to real-time RFP, bid leveling, and project management cost information, all within an integrated system. Owners will also be able to access Con Edison's Market Partners, a network of experienced energy efficiency contractors, distributors and other professionals trained to provide technical support to commercial and industrial customers for the installation of energy efficient equipment. The Market Partners will be able to indicate their intention to bid on owner projects, download the project documents they need, and view a bidding timeline with key events, enabling further team collaboration.
